Job Summary

Reporting to the General Manager - C-Care IHK, the successful candidate will lead and manage Inpatient Services, ensuring efficient delivery of housekeeping, laundry, bed management and kitchen/catering services. The role will drive high patient satisfaction, compliance with healthcare standards and operational efficiency, while owning the end-to-end inpatient journey from admission and bed allocation, through the inpatient stay, to discharge.

Job Details

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of housekeeping, laundry, bed management and kitchen/catering services.
  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry activities to maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, infection prevention and patient comfort.
  • Oversee kitchen and catering operations to ensure safe, nutritious and high-quality meals in line with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
  • Manage bed allocation and patient flow to optimise occupancy and minimise admission and discharge delays.
  • Own, map and continuously improve the end-to-end inpatient patient journey - from admission and room readiness, through the inpatient stay, meals, cleanliness, comfort, communication and transfers, to discharge - applying the same intentionality and attention to detail expected in an exceptional hospitality guest journey.
  • Coordinate support services to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery across the hospital.
  • Develop and implement quality standards for all inpatient support services in line with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection prevention standards and organisational policies.
  • Identify service gaps and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Monitor patient and family feedback and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, patient experience and the moments that matter across the inpatient journey.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and environmental health requirements within kitchen and laundry operations.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to teams across housekeeping, laundry, bed management and kitchen/catering services.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling and performance management of departmental staff.
  • Foster a collaborative, patient-centred and service-oriented culture, ensure adherence to policies, procedures and quality standards, and promote continuous learning and professional development.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets; monitor expenditure, optimise resource utilisation, minimise wastage and work closely with Finance to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns related to inpatient support services in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical teams to ensure support services align with patient care objectives.
  • Represent Inpatient Services in internal committees, management meetings and external engagements as required, and build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, support regulatory compliance, and align with C-Care Group inpatient standards and other Group facilities.

 

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration (MBA) or Operations Management; a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Public Health or a related field is also relevant.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in healthcare operations or hospital service management, with proven experience managing multiple service lines including billing, housekeeping and catering.
  • Expertise in healthcare service delivery, operational efficiency and quality assurance, with strong knowledge of patient satisfaction metrics and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership in multi-departmental management, ability to resolve patient and operational issues effectively, a strategic mindset in resource optimization and process improvement, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.
